Updated October 2026. A necklace is the piece people see first, and in 2026 the pendant has won: short chains with a single stone or motif have outsold long chains and statement collars across the year. This guide ranks the eight necklaces that have sold best, with notes on chain length, metal tone and which stones suit which skin tones. The notable change is the rise of rose gold tone and pale enamel for daytime, with onyx holding its place as the evening favourite.
Each piece was ranked on sales over the last 90 days, return rates and how easily it layers with the others. All are made to the same specification as the boutique version and priced below retail, and every order ships free with worldwide tracking and a 30-day return window.
1. The onyx quatrefoil pendant in yellow gold tone
Onyx set in a yellow gold-tone quatrefoil frame is the pendant customers buy first and gift most. Black stone on warm metal works against every neckline, and the short chain sits just below the collarbone. It is a fine chain, so wear it alone or with one longer piece, never with a chunky chain that could scratch the stone.

2. The pink opal disc pendant in rose gold tone
Rose gold tone and a pale pink opal disc with a single set stone make this the softest piece on the list, and the one most often bought for a daughter or a sister. The chain is adjustable between two lengths, so it can sit high or at the collarbone. Opal is a soft stone; keep it away from perfume and store it separately.

3. The nail pendant with pavé stones in yellow gold tone
Flip the mood with the nail pendant, a bent nail motif set with pavé stones on a yellow gold-tone chain. It reads modern rather than pretty, which makes it a good match for a shirt or a blazer, and it hangs at collarbone length. The pavé is on the front only, so it sits flat and does not catch on knitwear.

4. The crystal drop pendant in light gold tone
Crystals on a light gold-tone chain give this drop pendant more sparkle than the stone-set pieces for less money, which is why it is the top seller in the run-up to the party season. The drop hangs a little lower than the collarbone and moves as you do. It is a costume piece, so remove it before swimming and showering.

5. The curved bar pendant in yellow gold tone
Minimal to the point of disappearing, the curved bar pendant on a fine yellow gold-tone chain is the daily necklace for people who do not usually wear necklaces. It is small, roughly two centimetres across, and sits high at the base of the throat. Layer it under the quatrefoil pendant for a two-chain look, or wear it alone with a high neckline.

6. The anchor-chain pendant with a single stone in white gold tone
White gold tone suits anyone who wears silver, and this anchor-link pendant with a single set stone at the join is the cleanest of the cool-toned pieces. The links are small and the chain is short, so it sits neatly inside an open collar. Because the pendant is all metal, it is hard-wearing enough for the gym and the shower.

7. The lacquered initial pendant in pale pink and silver tone
Pale pink lacquer in a silver-tone frame is the most-gifted piece under a hundred dollars on the store. The mini pendant is roughly the size of a fingernail and hangs on a fine short chain, which keeps it playful rather than loud. Lacquer chips if knocked against hard surfaces, so take it off before sport.

8. The long sterling silver chain-link necklace
Long chains have had a quieter year, but this sterling silver chain-link necklace is the exception. Wear it doubled as a short double strand, or single over a knit for a column of silver. It closes with a toggle and has a satisfying weight in the hand. Silver tarnishes slowly, so polish it with a cloth every few months.

How we chose
Ten necklaces made the data cut. We dropped a duplicate listing of the long silver chain and a multicolour enamel charm necklace that sells in bursts but returns more often than average. The eight here cover yellow, white, rose and silver tones, four stone or finish types and chain lengths from short to long, and are ordered by 90-day sales with return rate as the tiebreaker.
Chain length, tone and layering
Chain length decides where a pendant sits: 40cm is at the base of the throat, 42cm to 45cm just below the collarbone, and 80cm falls to the chest and can be doubled. Check the stated length on each product page before buying for someone else, and remember that an adjustable chain removes most of the guesswork. On tone, yellow gold tone flatters warm and olive skin, white gold tone and silver suit cooler complexions, and rose gold tone works on almost everyone. Layering is easiest with two chains at least 5cm apart in length and no more than one stone-set pendant, which stops the pieces from tangling or scratching one another. For gifting, a pendant on an adjustable chain is the safest choice.
